It borders Longsight, Gorton, Burnage, Heaton Chapel and Reddish, and is approximately halfway between Stockport and Manchester City Centre (approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) away) on the A6 road. Culture
Levenshulme is evolving into an area typical of South Manchester, i.e. a mix of pubs, bars, restaurants, takeaways, cybercafés and terraced housing. Levenshulme is still considered to be one of the most deprived areas of Manchester, and regeneration efforts are underway to address this problem.
